Important Published Medical Information The Media Does Not Share With You

January 1, 2008

  1. Endometriosis is one of the most destructive and painful gynecological conditions. For years, I have been using successful nutritional regimen I created for this condition. In the August 2007 Journal of Reproductive Medicine there is finally a first attempt to support the nutritional view of ending this debilitating condition. The standard medical treatment for this condition is surgery plus six months of an injected chemicalized hormonal treatment that shuts off women's estrogen production. The drawback of this treatment is the following:

    a. These women, who are relatively young, suffer from a rainbow of symptoms from estrogen deficiency similar to women in menopause.

    b. It is costly and injectable.

    c. Usually symptoms come back after the treatment stops.

In this particular study one group got the standard medical care and a second group got 60mg of French Maritime Pine Bark Extract (Pycnogenol) taken twice a day. Two years later both groups have similar success.

Please take a moment to digest this conclusion. One group gets a treatment that is costly and has significant side effects. The other group gets minimal amounts of a healthy supplement that costs a fraction and has no side effects. Both groups have similar success rates. I wonder if there are any gynecologists in the country who get this medical journal and would ever attempt this nutritional treatment route. From my point of view, the treatment mentioned here is a fraction of what the nutritional approach to eradicate endometriosis should be.
Just to show you how minimal the amount of pycnogenol that was used in this study, I personally take 240-300mg every 4-5 hours with the first sign of the flu or when I travel by air.
  2. HER 2 is an aggressive variant of breast cancer. Twenty percent of the women that have breast cancer carry this variant which has negative prognosis. The August 2007 issue of Endocrine had published an article that showed that Genistein (a regular component of soy) blocks the function of the HER 2 component. The author sees Genistein as having "Chemo-prevention and potential chemo-therapeutic" roles in breast cancer. For promoting the health of women with breast cancer, or women who have a family history of breast cancer, and especially women with the HER 2 variant, I use in my program the following: I suggest women use 2-3 capsules, twice a day of MEGA Soy extract. There are many women that eat soy products, and usually health care providers frighten them by saying that it may cause breast cancer. Obviously, in this study you see that including soy in your diet will have many benefits for breast cancer prevention.
  3. It seems that daily, the media alerts you about hormones and breast cancer. The data they give you is shown to be based on minimal information and definitely never shown to be true when it comes to the use of 'estrogen' in the human population . M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, one of the three most respective names in cancer treatment confirms again the safety of estrogen use.

Obviously you didn't hear about it because you never hear about the benefits of hormonal treatment. In the October 1st , 2007 Journal of Clinical Oncology, they review in their medical record 2,327 women with early stage breast cancer treated at M.D. Anderson Medical Center between 1985 and the year 2000. Their conclusions were clear cut and confirmed similar conclusions in many other medical centers of the world - that women that had used estrogen prior to the onset of breast cancer had significantly better outcome and a significant decrease in the risk of recurrence as compared to women that never use hormones.
